Sherry Scott Chandler was born in rural Indiana and was raised with strong Midwestern values and a driven work ethic. After graduating from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ms. Chandler moved to Houston, Texas. While working full time as a paralegal in a large downtown law firm, Ms. Chandler attended law school at South Texas College of Law. At times, Ms. Chandler worked full time and took a full course load in law school. Despite the workload, Ms. Chandler excelled both in her professional endeavors and academic efforts.
Ms. Chandler has devoted her twenty-seven year career to representing those who have been injured and harmed by others. Ms. Chandler her formative years working for one of the largest Plaintiff’s firms in the Southwest gaining vast experience in many areas of practice. Thereafter, in 2005, Lewis and Sherry Chandler formed The Chandler Law Firm, LLP. Since 2005, Ms. Chandler and The Chandler Law Firm have represented thousands of individuals as a result of numerous catastrophic events in Galveston County, including, but not limited to the 2005 explosion at the BP Texas City Refinery and the 2010 toxic release at the BP Texas City Refinery. In the Texas City BP ULC MDL matter, Ms. Chandler was appointed by the Galveston County District Court to serve as one of five members of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee to oversee the litigation involving over 45,000 individuals. In addition to catastrophic events, Ms. Chandler has represented individuals and children who have been injured in automobile collisions, dangerous premises, and work-related injuries. Ms. Chandler has a special place in her heart for children. She has represented children who have been injured at daycare centers, schools, and other places. Ms. Chandler represented several children who were sexually assaulted by a Houston school teacher taking the case all the way to the United State Supreme Court.
